In the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Forêt d'Orient, 3 large artificial lakes have been built: the Lac d'Orient, the Lac du Temple and the Lac Amance. These 3 lakes offer you the possibility to do various activities. One hour away from them is the Lac du Der, which is also an artificial lake used to regulate the water levels of the Marne and the Seine.
The Orient Lake
This 2,300 hectare lake is the largest body of water in the department and also the main ornithological reserve with more than 265 species of birds listed. Four observatories are at your disposal to allow you to see them up close:
- Orient Observatory
- Valois Observatory
- Pic Vert Observatory
- Amance Lake Observatory

Temple Lake
Why this name? Because legend has it that the Templars hid their treasure there. The Lac du Temple is a paradise for fishermen and people who like to practice sailing sports. It is a preserved and protected area of 2,000 hectares, classified as a "National Nature Reserve" for the most part.
Lake Amance
This 500-hectare lake is perfect for jet-ski, water-ski and other speed enthusiasts. The Port Dienville leisure centre offers everything you need for a thrilling experience! It is also possible to take to the sea in a boat without a licence and to moor on the Carp Island or the Bird Island.

Swimming areas
All around these three lakes, supervised areas have been set up to allow you to swim.
- Beach of Mesnil-Saint-Père
- Beach of Lusigny-sur-Barse
- Beach of Géraudot
- Beach of Port Dienville
